Surge Arrester- 1Ø and 3Ø Transformer Protection
The Prosurge PSM40 series is a high-performance surge arrester designed specifically for the protection of the secondary side (low-voltage side) of pole or pad type distribution transformers. Mounting provisions and available lead configurations allow for easy installation on both types of transformers. Built with UL-certified high-performance MOVs and a rugged IP68 304 stainless steel housing, the series delivers 40kA max discharge current (8/20µs) and withstands harsh outdoor environments from –40°C to +85°C. The series is available for single-phase split phase systems (120/240V, 240/480V), single-phase 277V systems (with Uc up to 650V), as well as three-phase 277/480Y systems. PSM40S models add an LED failure indicator (LED off = failed) for easy maintenance status checking. Compliant with UL1449 5th Edition, IEEE Std C62.11, and IEC/EN 61643-11. Key features: ≤25ns response time, low leakage current (<0.1mA), pre-wired 10AWG leads, IP68/NEMA6P waterproof and flame-resistant enclosure.
